Chi Chi Fashionista Nail Set: Review/Swatches

The set contains 8 nail polishes in total, a pretty good deal for under $20.

It was disappointing to see that the company hadn't bothered to give the nail polishes any names, but I guess it's not that big of a deal.

The first nail polish in this collection is this very elegant pearlescent white shade- it's unfortunate that this doesn't translate very well on camera. I honestly wasn't expecting to like this particular shade because lighter nail polishes tend to look really awkward on my tanned skin- but this one is surprisingly flattering. Like a few nail polishes in this collection, it's not completely opaque- with two coats you get a nice semi-opaque finish.

The next nail polish in the collection is a very sparkly golden metallic shade. Its looks great on it's own or even as a base for the glitter polishes (swatches below). Again, It's not completely opaque- I'd estimate it's at about 90% opacity.

As you can see from the picture, the next polish in the collection is probably the most unique. It's a very  dark black with small specks of multi-coloured sparkle and bigger specks of silver glitter. When I first tested this shade out, I was very doubtful that the sparkle would translate well onto my nails however I was pleasantly surprised. Under most lighting the multi-coloured sparkle is noticeable- more so at night under artificial lighting than during the day time.

The first glitter polish in this set is a very funky multi coloured one. It looks amazing in the bottle and equally beautiful on the nails. The only problem I found with it was the application- when I brushed it onto my nails I got hardly any glitter on them so instead, I had to gently stipple the brush onto my nails, which gave a much better result.
(Since glitter nail polish is a nightmare to get off- I combined both glitter swatches onto one hand)

The first coat of each polish is quiet transparent and streaky, however if you wait for it to dry and then apply a second coat, it gets better.

The next glitter polish is lovely pink and blue one. There really isn't anything new to say about this once because apart from the colour and size of glitter, its pretty much the same.

This set also comes with 3 bright nail polishes, the first being this beautiful light purple. Looking closely at the bottle there appears to be some blue shimmer within, giving it a duo-chrome appearance however, once on my nails there was no trace of any shimmer. This is slightly disappointing but nonetheless still a pretty colour.

The next shade is a lovely barbie pink which is one of my favourites from the set. It's one of the only shades in the collection that contains no shimmer what so ever, perfect if you just want something simple and not too over the top.

The last polish in the Fashionista set is a very bright neon yellow. Like the purple, there appears to be shimmer in the bottle, but once on my nails it was almost none existent. I think it's a fun shade but I can't see myself using it much unless neon comes back in style.

Over all I'm pretty happy with the collection, I like how there is a variety of different colours and finishes to suit any occasion. You do have to take time and care when using these polishes, but it's well worth it once your done.
